Manufacturing Trainings Flyer

PCC and the CAPITAL Career Center work closely with local businesses in the solar, bioscience and traditional manufacturing industries to create short term training programs for entry level Operator and Technician positions specific to their hiring requirements. Training varies from 6 weeks to 2 terms, and upon completion companies are ready to hire graduates!

  • Solar Voltaic Manufacturing Technology Certificate of Completion: This 13 credit program qualifies graduates to work in the solar industry as operators after only one term. Solar World is hiring from this program.
  •  

  • Bioscience Technician Certificate of Completion: This 13 credit program qualifies graduates to work in a variety of bioscience companies including pharmaceuticals, medical devices and research. Genentech, Welch Allyn, HemCon and Precision Wire Components are hiring graduates of this program. Scholarships are available!
  • Pre-requisites for Solar and Bioscience Technician certifications are Reading and Writing 115, and Math 65. For students wishing to increase their math, reading and writing skills to qualify, an 8-week bridge class, Advanced Manufacturing Skills Training, will be available at the Capital Career Center starting in February 2009.

  • Entry-Level High Tech Skills Training for non-native English speakers (ESOL): This 7 week training prepares job seekers to go to work for circuit board manufacturers or related companies. Level 3 English skills or higher are required. 90% of students are hired after completion. Companies that hire graduates of this program include Vanguard EMS, Inc., Precision Wire Components, Axiom Electronics; and Merix Corporation. Next training will be offered in Spring 2009. Flyer

  • Manufacturing Foundations Training: Open to all job seekers interested in machine manufacturing. High school diploma or GED required. This 6 week training is located at the PCC Capital Career Center. 80% of students are hired after completion. Hiring companies include Precision Wire Components, Tosoh Quartz and Solaicx.     Class offers instruction in Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Department (GED) incuding reading, writing, math, social studies, and science instruction. For orientation information please check the Flyer

    H.E.L.P

    The H.E.L.P program is a collaborative effort in Washington County funded by United Way. The partners (DHS, Lifeworks,Community Action) provide a cooordinated approach to assist job seekers who have unstabe housing with job search and retentetion and more.. Flyer
