Adult, Child and Family Outpatient Therapy

     ACFOT Services offers a comprehensive range of treatment services, including mental health therapy, counseling and psychiatric medical services to adults, children, adolescents and families.
     Typical problems include adjustment disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, personality disorders, post traumatic stress, and other symptoms associated with trauma, including childhood physical and sexual abuse.

ABUSE GROUP: Structured play therapy group with extensive check-in, focused on feelings, peer interactions, and sharing of abuse histories. Ages 7-10. Ongoing.
ADOLESCENT DEPRESSION COURSE: Course for adolescents to assist with effectively managing depression, developing
communication and problem-solving skills, and improving
social interaction.
Ages 13-17. Ongoing.
ANGER MANAGEMENT GROUP: Members learn skills to
effectively communicate, form boundaries, reduce stress, and process current problems with anger and relationships.
Ongoing.
DBT GROUP: Skill building group focusing on mindfulness,
distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal relationship skills for clients who struggle with labile moods, crisis-orientation, relationship problems, and self-destructive behaviors.

GAMBLING GROUP: Adult weekly education/process group for gambling addicted clients. Ongoing.
MEN'S ISSUES GROUP: Members focus on relationships
and problems in relating to partner, marriage issues, and
fatherhood. Learn skills of communication and anger
management.

MRDD GROUP: Skill building group for developmentally
disabled adults using psychodrama techniques to work on
issues of communication, problem-solving, anger management, safety skills, relationships, and sexuality.

MOOD CONTROL (ANXIETY/DEPRESSION) GROUP: Members focus on learning more about anxiety and depression, the
effects of thinking and beliefs on emotions, and specific thinking and behavioral skills that can help in coping with moods.

PARENT TRAINING SKILLS GROUP: Members focus on developing skills to build self-esteem, positive communication, and effective discipline. Ongoing.
STRESS MANAGEMENT GROUP: Direct skills training in relaxation and anxiety management. Identify and change stressful thoughts and expectations. Learn skills of assertiveness and boundary setting to reduce anxiety. Ongoing.
TEENS FROM ADDICTED FAMILIES GROUP: A group focusing on education, coping skills, and emotional development. For teens with parent or other family members with alcohol, drug, gambling or other addictions. Ongoing.
TRAUMA PLAY GROUP: Play therapy group with structured check-in, oriented around feeling expression, peer inter-
action, and behavior management skills. Ages 6-7.

WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT GROUP: Members develop skills to improve relationships, communication, and self-esteem.
Focuses on issues of assertiveness, stress management, trauma and problem-solving.
Ongoing.
WOMEN'S NARRATIVE TRAUMA GROUP: For women with
histories of trauma. Narrative therapy techniques are used to externalize specific problems and target these problems for change. The group will use a four week format and members can contract for further sessions.

YOUNG CHILDREN FROM ADDICTED HOMES GROUP: Structured education/process group with emphasis on feeling
recognition, sharing, and family history. Open to verbal
children who recognize addiction in their family system
including alcohol, drug, gambling or other addictions.
Ages 7-13. Ongoing.
